Three After School Snack Ideas You Didn’t Know You Needed Till Now

School is back and it’s already hectic, right? Goodness we know how you feel!

To make things a little easier we’ve put together three quick snack ideas that you can have at the ready and not feel bad about giving to your kids when they’re feeling peckish.

1. Sea Salt Popcorn

A light, with not so many nasties in it (as long as you stick to the basic salted kind), popcorn is a great little afternoon snack for the kids.

It’s also a snack that you can have at the ready, making things a little more convenient and less stressful.

Our tops picks are Freedom Foods Messy Monkeys or Cobs Natural Popcorn. Alternatively, you can buy popcorn kernels and pop your own at home!

2. Smooshed Wholefood  Balls

Super tasty and found at Coles, Woolworths and yes, Aldi, these Smooshed Wholefood Balls are great for the kids but also the whole family. I’m so guilty of going to town on these!

But the thing about these tasty, round snacks of goodness is that they are actually more of a dense snack.

For those with allergies however, be cautious as most, if not all, of the flavours available involve nuts.

3. Trail Mix

Filled with seeds, nuts, dried fruits and sometimes little bits of chocolate if you’re lucky, trail mix is a great in between meal snack. It’s not only great because it’s quick and convenient but also because it offers a great source of nutrients.

Why? Because seeds and nuts contain healthy fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to function. But best to get the plan, unsalted and unroasted type if you can.

However for those with allergies, yet again look out because there are nuts about when it comes to trail mix.
